Cerebral Palsy Medical ID
Do You Need A Bracelet or Medical ID For Cerebral Palsy?
If you or your loved one is living with cerebral palsy, it's a good idea to wear medical alert jewellery to make others aware of the condition. This could be extremely important in the event of a seizure or other emergency situation. Not only does the jewellery let responders know you have cerebral palsy – it can also advise them of other vital information, speaking for you when you can’t.
Our jewellery features the medical alert symbol that's instantly recognisable to medical personnel and first responders. This means they can obtain crucial information quickly and efficiently in an emergency.
In our cerebral palsy range, you'll find handy medicine bags, ID cards, wristbands, necklaces and medical alert bracelets many of which we can personalise with your details. All prices include free engraving and free UK mainland delivery.
What do you put on a cerebral palsy medical bracelet?
It is always best to consult with your doctor or specialist to decide what to engrave on your cerebral palsy medical ID. In the event that this is not possible, we have taken advice from the lovely doctors at Concierge Medical (the multi award-winning private GP service for the Cotswolds and surrounding areas) and recommend the following:
-
Your cerebral palsy diagnosis.
-
Any cerebral palsy medications you take, such as antiepileptic drugs (AEDs).
-
Your primary ICE (in case of emergency) number.
You may also want to include the following:
-
Your name.
-
Any severe impairment(s).
-
Any other severe medical conditions (including allergies).
-
Any other medications you may be on.
-
“See medical card” (if you choose to carry a medical ID card in your phone case or wallet).
If you choose a medical id bracelet that can be engraved on both the front and the back, we recommend that you engrave your medical information on the front and your personal information (name and ICE) on the back.
General advice on engraving:
-
information should relate to conditions not otherwise discoverable by examination of an unconscious or incapacitated patient.
-
Important medications should be listed.
-
Information should be relevant to life-saving or emergency treatment.
-
Avoid using general terms, e.g. “Allergies: bee stings, nuts” is much more useful than just “Allergies”.
